Bird DNA Sexing
DNA extracted from feathers, eggshell membrane, claw clippings, or blood is analyzed by real-time PCR to determine whether a bird is male or female. Naturally molted feathers can also be used, allowing testing to be performed with minimal stress to the bird whenever suitable feathers are available.

Receive your business order form
We will provide a dedicated order form URL for your organization. Multiple birds can be submitted through the same form.
Send your samples to Japan
Package the samples separately for each bird and clearly identify the species and your management number or other identifier. Please review our Sample Submission Guidelines before sending samples internationally.
Receive the results
Testing begins after the samples arrive at forbird. Once testing is complete, the results and individual PDF test reports are sent by email.
Quality control throughout the testing process

Each submitted bird is assigned a unique test ID, which is matched against the order information throughout the testing process.
