Services

Bird DNA Sexing

We analyze DNA from feathers, eggshell membranes, claws, blood, and other biological samples to determine whether a bird is male or female. Naturally molted feathers can also be used, allowing DNA sexing without necessarily plucking feathers or collecting blood.

Accepted Samples

Feathers, eggshells with membrane, claws, blood, and other suitable biological samples can be used for testing. Naturally molted feathers are also accepted.

Results

Test results are sent by email together with a PDF test report showing the bird’s DNA sexing result.

Standard Turnaround

Results are usually provided within 5 days after we receive your sample and confirm payment.

Why forbird

Testing designed with bird welfare in mind.

We do not assume that blood collection or feather plucking is always necessary. Whenever appropriate, naturally molted feathers and other low-burden samples can be used for DNA sexing.

Bird-Friendly Sampling

Naturally molted feathers can be used in addition to eggshell membranes, claws, blood, and other samples, providing options that can help reduce unnecessary stress on birds.

Specialized Testing Technology

We use analytical methods including real-time PCR and bird-focused testing protocols to obtain reliable results even from small amounts of biological material.

Flow

From application to results in 3 simple steps.
